Utah Notary Fees
Acknowledgment: Up to $10.00 per signature
Utah caps notary fees at $10 per signature for acknowledgments and jurats, $10 per page for certified copies, $10 per person for oaths/affirmations without a signature, and $10 per signature witnessing; remote notarizations are capped at $25. Travel fees up to the federal mileage rate are allowed if explained and agreed in advance, and an English-language fee schedule must be displayed.

How Utah counts notary fees
Counted per signature
Acknowledgment, jurat and signature witnessing are capped for each signature notarized, not for each document or appointment. Two people signing the same document are two signatures.
- 1 signature: up to $10.00
- 2 signers on one document: up to $20.00
- 2 signers on each of 3 documents (6 signatures): up to $60.00
Counted per person
Oath / affirmation is capped per individual: the count is the number of people, not pages or signatures.

Counted per notarial act
Remote online notarization: each notarial act performed is capped at $25.00. The maximum for several acts is the number of acts times the per-act cap.

A notary may charge a travel fee, not to exceed the approved federal mileage rate, when traveling to perform a notarial act if: (a) the notary explains to the person requesting the notarial act that the travel fee is separate from the notarial fee and is neither specified nor mandated by law; and (b) the notary and the person requesting the notarial act agree upon the travel fee in advance.
