Wyoming Notary Fees
Acknowledgment: Up to $10.00 per act
Under W.S. 32-3-126, a Wyoming notarial officer may charge not more than $10 per notarial act (or not more than $10 per acknowledgment, signature, oath/affirmation, certification or note of protest when more than one person appears on a single record), plus a technology fee for electronic/remote notarization if the total fee is agreed in advance; fees may be reduced or waived. The $10 cap replaced the prior $5 cap effective July 1, 2021.

Wyoming Statute 32-3-126 addresses "Notarial officer fees." Under subsection (a), for performing a notarial act, a notarial officer may charge the maximum fees specified in that section, charge less than the maximum fees or waive the fees. Subsection (b) specifies that a notarial officer may charge the following fees: (i) Not more than ten dollars ($10.00) per notarial act; or (ii) Not more than ten dollars ($10.00) per acknowledgement, signature, oath or affirmation, certification or note of protest if more than one (1) person appears before a notarial officer to complete a notarial act on a single record; (iii) A technology fee associated with utilizing an electronic notarization system or other form of communication technology if the notarial officer and the person requesting the notarial act agree upon the total fee in advance of the notarial act. ... The fee to charge for a Notarial Act changed from $5 to $10, and notaries are allowed to charge a technology fee and may charge a mileage fee under the Wyoming Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts effective July 1, 2021.

CAUTION: search summaries of the SOS Notary Rules Chapter 6 PDF (https://sos.wyo.gov/Services/Docs/Notary-Rules_current.pdf) and the January 2026 commission instructions (https://sos.wyo.gov/forms/notariespublic/wynotaryapp.pdf) returned a line stating 'The maximum fee a notary public may charge is $5.00 per notarial act'; this conflicts with the current statute § 32-3-126 ($10), which controls. An employer may prohibit an employee notarial officer from charging for notarial acts performed as part of employment. Travel-fee refund rules are in § 32-3-126(d).
