Acknowledgment: Up to $5.00 per act
Ohio notaries may charge up to $5.00 for any notarial act that is not an online notarization and up to $30.00 for an online notarization (not both); fees are not calculated per signature. A reasonable travel fee agreed in advance and a technology fee of up to $10.00 for an online notarization system may be added.

How Ohio counts notary fees
Counted per notarial act
Acknowledgment, jurat, oath / affirmation, copy certification, signature witnessing, remote online notarization and any other notarial act: each notarial act performed is capped at $5.00 (or the amount listed for that act). The maximum for several acts is the number of acts times the per-act cap.

A notary public in Ohio is entitled to up to five dollars for any notarial act that is not an online notarization, and for an online notarization, up to thirty dollars. A notary charging the online notarization fee cannot also charge the regular notarial act fee. The fees charged shall not be calculated on a per signature basis. In addition to these base fees, a notary may charge a reasonable travel fee (as agreed to beforehand) and a technology fee up to ten dollars for the use of an online notarization system.
