Nevada Notary Fees
Acknowledgment: Up to $15.00 first signature + $7.50 each additional
Nevada notaries may charge no more than $15 for the first signature of each signer on an acknowledgment and $7.50 for each additional signature of each signer, $7.50 for an oath or affirmation, $7.50 for a certified copy, $15 per signature for a jurat, and $75 for performing a marriage ceremony (amounts effective July 1, 2021 under AB 245). Fees must be posted if charged. A travel fee, if agreed in advance, is capped by the hour: $15 per hour for travel requested between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. and $30 per hour between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., with a 2-hour minimum permitted and pro rata charging after the first 2 hours.

How Nevada counts notary fees
First signature, then each additional (restarts per signer)
Acknowledgment: the maximum is $15.00 for the first signature and $7.50 for each additional signature, and the first-signature amount starts over for each signer. So the same number of signatures can have very different maximums depending on how many signers they are spread across.
- 3 signatures on one signer: $15.00 + 2 × $7.50 = $30.00
- 3 signatures, one on each of 3 signers: 3 × $15.00 = $45.00
- 4 signatures across 2 signers: 2 × $15.00 + 2 × $7.50 = $45.00
Counted per signature
Jurat is capped for each signature notarized, not for each document or appointment. Two people signing the same document are two signatures.

Counted per notarial act
Oath / affirmation and copy certification: each notarial act performed is capped at $7.50. The maximum for several acts is the number of acts times the per-act cap.

Caveats and research notes
Per the Nevada SOS FAQ, the current maximums became effective July 1, 2021 (increased via Assembly Bill 245, 81st Session). The specific dollar amounts under NRS 240.197 for electronic notarial acts were not returned in search results and are not recorded here. SOS FAQ: 'The statute doesn't require that you charge a fee. But if you charge one person and not another, other laws such as those prohibiting discrimination may be applicable.' SOS FAQ URL: https://www.nvsos.gov/licensing/notary/faqs Corrected 2026-09-15: the 2026-09-06 bundle described Nevada's travel cap as the federal standard mileage rate. That language is not in the current NRS 240.100, which caps travel by the hour ($15 daytime / $30 night, 2-hour minimum, pro rata after) with advance agreement.
