Nebraska Notary Fees
Acknowledgment: Up to $5.00 per act
Nebraska statute sets notary fees at $5 for taking an acknowledgment of a deed or other instrument and for each certificate and seal, $2 for taking affidavits and seal and for administering an oath or affirmation, $1 per protest, $2 for recording and for each notice of protest, plus mileage for serving notice. Online notaries may charge up to an additional $25 per online notarial act.

An online notary public or his or her employer may charge a fee in an amount not to exceed twenty-five dollars for each online notarial act, in addition to any fee authorized under section 33-133.

Caveats and research notes
Nebraska SOS notice: 'Neither the notary nor a third party charging notary fees as part of the services they provide should exceed the statutory fees in charging for notary services.' (https://sos.nebraska.gov/sites/default/files/doc/07-mobile_notary_signing_agent_warning_6.pdf). An employee of the state or its political subdivisions may not charge the fees if the governmental employer paid the commission and bonding fees. The 36.5 cents per mile figure is as stated in the SOS notice and may be outdated relative to the § 81-1176 rate.
